AFFINITY
Originating from different cultural background but all passionate about the same universe: “music” in the sense of brotherhood and reunifying. The music is all about sharing according to their philosophy and they use it to demonstrate in their stage performance. Influenced by the Afro-Caribbean music but by all that modern music at its best, soul, hip hop, reggae, rock…! Blending and mixing is what their music is all about, and they are not scared to cross the boarders, that gives them their strength, their identity and all the interest of this young group.

BABILONDON
Babilondon are a fresh London based roots reggae band inspired by the sun, sea, and surf of frontman Zack Woolfson’s Portuguese background. The band have developed a strong unity having studied music together in London and their diverse mix of nationalities, personalities and different rootical cultures brings out a unique sound. Recently between great venues including Passing Clouds, Notting Hill Arts Club, Rich Mix and Hootanany, their sound is heating up the city! With a debut EP on the way, gigs and festivals booked, they are ready to take on any audience, get them skanking, and have a good time!

RABBIT FOOT
Powered by animal skin, six string and vocals akin to the great old blues ladies, Rabbit Foot offer an indescribable sound. They’ve coined the term Swamp Boogie Blues to capture the “SRV meets Ali Farka at a West African Juke presided by Tom Waits and Nina Simone” vibe. Must be seen, Raw and mesmerizing, virtuosic and genuinely unique.

New fundraising campaign – 4people 2012

4people is collaborating with Bala Orphanage Charity since 2010 in their work at the Bala Mercy Children’s Centre in Kenya.

We are now raising money to support the Super Adobe project and the second part of 4people mission at the BMCC. The mission already started in May 2012 and more volunteers will join us during the next 3 months, until the end of August 2012.

4people is a small organisation run by volunteers who want to dedicate to aid projects and want to share their skills and experiences and gain many more while working for and with local people from the Bala community.

If you are happy to support us, please make a donation on www.justgiving.com/4-people

Your donation will allow all volunteers to bring the project to completion.

Whatever small or big the donation can be, what is important is that you will support the idea that a better world is achievable and stands on the principles of sharing and love.

The BMCC is a school with around 80 live-in students, which provides a daily meal and teaches 400 pre-school, primary and secondary school students.

At the moment we are busy in completing the volunteers’ guest house where volunteers visiting the BMCC every year can stay, without commuting from the close village, making their actions of help and support more effective.

We are building the guest house with an innovative technique called Super-Adobe. With few and easily available materials like soil, propylene bags and barbed wire, it is possible to build strong and durable houses, resistant to numerous natural phenomena, in particular to flooding, which heavily affects the BMCC area every year.

We are employing local people in the building process as according to our objectives, we want to generate sustainable development through the transfer of skills and experiences, with particular regard to capacity building and community development principles.

As 4people, we believe that new skills and experiences enable people to make the most of their culture and traditions and therefore create their own development.

Tradition and culture are considered key resources in the development process, to make it sustainable without distorting the natural development of communities and their social, economic and cultural backgrounds.
