Guest house_Earthbag House

The Earthbag House we are going to build will provide adequate shelter for volunteers who work in the orphanage, avoiding the need to travel daily to the nearby city.

The house is an aggregation fo dome-shaped modules made using the earthbags technique.

The buildings made with this technique can withstand the most adverse wather conditions and natural disasters like earthquakes and floods. The dome as well as being highly resistant shape, has also excellent insulation property which, along with sacks of earth thermal resistance, allows an extraordinary insulation of the house.

The modules can be contructed quickly and easily, using readily available materials and simple tools (soil and barbed wire) with a very small economic impact. This technique is alsi very intuitive and easily to assimilate and our aim is to use local labour to be able to transfer the experience and skills necessary to encourage the local economy.
