Pellet is a solid fuel obtained from drained material that has been compressed in small cylinders.

Thanks to this compression, pellet’s heating value is close to double the heating value of a piece of wood with the same volume that weights, thought, a lot more.

This project aims at teaching locals how to build small and simple presses to produce pellet with discarded material such as banana skin and leaves. The pellet produced may be used as fuel for kitchens or it may also be traded in the market.
